Akamai Cloud (Linode) pricing and plans

Long-running independent cloud, now inside Akamai

Linode predates most of the budget cloud market and was acquired by Akamai, which folded it into a much larger edge network. The instance shapes and flat pricing remain close to DigitalOcean, and the platform is mature and stable. It is the safe, unexciting choice in this list.

We earn nothing from Akamai Cloud. It is included for coverage, not because it pays us.

Plans and derived unit cost

The final two columns are computed from the monthly price, which is how you spot the tier where a provider stops being good value.

All figures are the providers' own published list prices in USD, on-demand monthly, recorded on 2026-08-30. Nothing here is live or negotiated pricing. Hetzner publishes in euros, so its dollar figure moves with the exchange rate. Check the provider's pricing page before you commit.

Where Akamai Cloud (Linode) wins

  • Mature platform with a long operational track record
  • Flat pricing and instance shapes broadly comparable to DigitalOcean
  • Backed by Akamai edge infrastructure

Where it does not

  • Unmanaged, same operational burden as its peers
  • Product direction now set by a much larger parent company
  • Smaller developer community than DigitalOcean

Who should actually pick this

Teams that value platform maturity and stability over the lowest possible invoice.

Support: Ticket and phone support; paid premium tiers available.
