Hetzner pricing and plans

The cheapest real compute per dollar, if EU regions work for you

Hetzner is consistently the price floor for genuine dedicated-thread compute, and its included traffic allowance is an order of magnitude larger than the US budget clouds. The catches are geographic and administrative: the region map is Europe-heavy with limited US presence, pricing is set in euros so your dollar cost moves with the exchange rate, and IPv4 addresses are billed separately.

We earn nothing from Hetzner. It is listed because leaving out the cheapest provider would make this comparison useless.

Plans and derived unit cost

The final two columns are computed from the monthly price, which is how you spot the tier where a provider stops being good value.

All figures are the providers' own published list prices in USD, on-demand monthly, recorded on 2026-08-30. Nothing here is live or negotiated pricing. Hetzner publishes in euros, so its dollar figure moves with the exchange rate. Check the provider's pricing page before you commit.

Where Hetzner wins

  • Lowest cost per vCPU and per GB of RAM in this comparison
  • Very large included traffic allowance
  • Dedicated-vCPU options at prices rivals charge for shared cores

Where it does not

  • Europe-weighted region map; thin coverage outside the EU and two US sites
  • Prices are denominated in EUR, so USD cost drifts with the exchange rate
  • IPv4 addresses carry a separate monthly charge
  • New-account identity verification can delay first provisioning

Who should actually pick this

Cost-driven workloads with European users, or anyone who can live on IPv6 plus a single IPv4.

Support: Ticket support; no phone support on cloud plans.

Hetzner and Akamai Cloud pay us nothing and are included anyway, because a comparison that hides the cheapest option is worthless.
